Choosing the Right Cycling Bicycle is not so Simple

We have seen a change in transportation recently. Cars have long been the most likely mode of transport in developed countries, however bikes are beginning to rise in popularity. This could be because down to the prices of gas and running a car, or perhaps people are deciding to care more for the planet. Either way you will now find the roads filled with more cyclists than ever before. Maybe you have considered buying a bike? If you have then there are several things you should look at when you do.

It’s okay for fashion to affect the decision you make about your new bicycle. We all like one color or style more than another. These preferences must be listened to when getting your next bike. Obviously, the style and fashion elements of the bicycle should not be your top priority (unless the bicycle is just for show). You really need to look at safety and comfort issues before any others. After finding bikes that are both safe and comfy, then you can see which ones look the best to you. The type of handlebars you choose is also important. As you probably know, there are many different types of handlebars. Traditional handlebars that just go straight out are good for maneuvering over difficult terrain. These handlebars will also evenly distribute your weight over a larger area. If you are using your bike for racing, then you want to pick some handlebars that are more slim and allow you to lean forward on your bike so you can go faster. If you aren't using your bike constantly, the best thing to choose is something that is simply comfortable and allows you to store your bike easily when it isn't in use.

You also want to make sure you leave some room between you and the crossbar of your bike. When choosing a bike move the seat so it is a couple of inches above the crossbar. Make sure you can place both feet on the ground if need be. Which bike you get will greatly alter the clearance you will require. For example a touring bike will require around an inch. If you are buying a mountain bike you’ll want more—three inches or so between you and the crossbar.

The idea behind buying cycling bicycles is to make sure that you and the bicycle fit well together—physically. Selecting a here bike with a good fit for you is of the utmost importance, when using a bike as the main way to get from A to B. You want to feel comfortable and safe as you travel from one point to another.
